This quick reference note contains links to some key resources that may be of interest.  Our intent is to ensure you have easy access to the key information resources you need, whenever you need them.


Take 30 seconds to download and install the free toolbar to your browser to access Support pages (regardless of which IBM Software product), search IBM Support knowledge base using keywords, specific errors, or an exact phrase, search or browse for product downloads including Fix Packs, updates, patches, etc.  This is a great tool to help you get to all the resources listed below.  Kind of one stop shopping!


Find answers to questions, navigate to your top support tasks easily with a new consistent design, browse by product and category as well, search technotes for known product solutions, APARs for fixes in progress (Authorized Program Analysis Report), download fixes for immediate solutions, request My Notifications e-mail or RSS updates for current product information.  All the resources below, as well as the one above, can be accessed via this support website.


Share your deployment experiences and best practices in one of our 20+ product wikis and help IBM to create scenarios for deployments, contribute to the community by collaborating on shared content, and leverage the shared knowledge.  This is a very valuable community tool with lots of great information!


Where the Lotus community meets to talk about Lotus software issues, discuss Lotus products with your peers, solve problems through collaboration, expand your understanding of Lotus products, and connect with others.  Coming soon: the ability to flag posts as useful and answered, categorize posts by role, new search capabilities, tag clouds, and more - all using the new Lotus XPages technology.


Learn interesting and useful product and support-related information, proactively warns you about hot issues, allows you to give feedback and comments directly to Lotus Support, covers topics ranging from views about  hot new products to software problems


Acquire fixes and updates for IBM software using this one-stop platform, search for fixes, Fix Packs or APARs, scope search results by version and platform, check for requisite fixes automatically, choose download method: HTTP, FTP or Download Director.


Take advantage of this subscription service to stay informed about new or updated support content for your products, such as publications, hints and tips, technical notes, product flashes (alerts), downloads and drivers.  Choose from options for frequency and type of notification – can be sent weekly or daily, in HTML or text formats.  Store notices in personal Web folders that you define, providing an automatic archive of notices.  Choose RSS delivery, using your favorite RSS reader.


Use the Electronic Service Request tool if you have Passport Advantage support to jump-start service requests.  You can: create/update service requests online, attach troubleshooting files to online service requests, choose severity and describe problems in your own words, submit directly to our support queues, receive e-mail notification of IBM updates, and download or print reports.  Using some of the great information resources highlighted above may even prevent your need to engage with a PMR, but if you do need one opening it up electronically is the way to go!


In 2009, IBM electronic support will introduce the new IBM Support Portal -- a unified, centralized view of all technical support tools and information for all IBM systems, software, and services.  Customized based on your product inventory, entitlement, and geography, the IBM Support Portal will let you personalize the pages to focus on exactly the information and resources you need for problem prevention and faster problem resolution.  Watch for this new gateway to all of IBM's technical resources!
